I wanna Buy a Dictaphone

Hi Everyone- Just starting an English Language course and need a dictaphone to record everyday speech, a lot of which will be children's speech!
Can anyone reccommend a good place to get one, I don't really know what type to get. I will be uploading them onto my laptop so guess I need one with a USB connection?!
I don't really want to spend too much, but want decent value for my money.
I haven't got a clue which ones are good, so any advice would be much appreciated! Will probably try and buy online if I can.
Thanks in advance
Lucy

Look at MP3 players - a lot of the USB stick type ones have a voice record facility! You might even have one on your mobile phone if you have one. What is this life if, full of care, we have no time to stand and stare0

Ok, very funny:rotfl:
But joking aside...
I really need a dictaphone, as I've tried recording on my phone and the sound quality isn't good enough. I need to use the information for quotations in my essays- I'm doing an English Language Degree so I need to be able to play it back and transcribe what people are saying.
ebsay- have you ever tried to transcribe people talking- it takes forever!
I need to record exactly what people say including pauses, intonation etc.
Also if I was trying to write down what a child says all I would have is 'what are you writing Lucy?' -not very helpful.
So if anyone has any advice on dictaphones it would be much appreciated.
