Interest Rate Cuts... Will it help?

I got up this morning and caught a little of Martin Lewis on the BBC talking about mortgages and possible further interest rate cuts. As I was forced to switch to CBeebies I missed the rest.

The BBC news is showing this story. http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/business/7870768.stm

I wonder whether a further interest rate cut would help ease the recession. Hope so. Or it that wishful thinking?

Cue the tracker mortgage brigade arriving any second now gloating about how their £1000 per month mortgages in 2007 are now only £2.50 per month.
