Whirlpool, what to do next??

Hi Can anyone help?

I bought a tumbledryer last year (29/01 to be exact) it developed a fault a couple of weeks ago and I called the service engineer. The guy came, seemed to fix it and that was that. Last week the same problem occured, so yesterday I telephoned the service line thinking it wouldn't be a problem to get the guy back as it was the SAME problem. NO! they want to charge me because I am out of my 12 month guarantee, even though its the same problem and I am only 6 days over the twelve months!!
I have to try and ring again this morning I was getting no where yesterday afternoon and totally losing it with them.
Can anyone help with what to do next, I really need to get the dryer working but am also furious at the way they have tried to wriggle out of it.

Would contacting trading standards be any help? It's all I can think of to suggest untill more posters come along with ideas & opinions for you.
The bigger the bargain, the better I feel.

I should mention that there's only one of me, don't confuse me with others of the same name.

The repair of the original fault should be covered by some sort of guarentee, phone them and ask them how long that is covered for. If it is exactly the same part that has failed then it should still be repaired free of charge as clearly the last repair was not completed correctly or the replacement part was faulty.

Contact consumer direct (not trading standards) for more advice.
