Sippdeal is expensive ?

Hi,

Continuing research on SIPPs and was giving sippdeal a good once over. I appreciate that this is a great start for the pension industry, but really it seems like all they are doing is selling expensive funds, slightly discounted and quite an expensive brokerage service.

I understand that this still may be reasonable for a fund purchase, however for the construction of a HYP and subsequent topup, this cannot be so great at 10 pounds a deal. Does anyone know if after A-Day, people will be able to use services like Halifax sharebuilder?

You could take a look at the Alliance Trust SIPP - I gather they have a cheap dealing system which may bulk buy rather like the Sharebuilder.

If you want to invest in funds, the Hargreaves Lansdown SIPP may suit you better. Sippdeal is organised more for people who want to buy shares on a long term buy and hold basis. Sippdealextra is better for people who want to invest in shares and deal a lot.

Don't discount the importance of the lack of annual management charge.
