Whats Next? Pensions?

Next will probably be Pensions...
Both the stock market and bond markets are headed much lower; 50% lower. That is bad news for pensions and insurance companies, as well as anyone invested in those markets.
The only thing left that is safe are gold and silver assets.
The implosion will probably begin in state, local and private pension plans. Good portions of their assets are illiquid, perhaps 15% to 20% and there is no telling how long they will remain that way.
My question is, how safe are pensions, are they protected ?

Not my worry. I don't have one.
  • Noone below the age of 30 needs a pension nowadays... people in this range will never reach retirement age because retirement age will be increased beyond life expectancy!

Like everything that involves politics, it wont get fixed until it breaks.

Ie on default the system will be rebooted and pensions will be fairer. The current crop of retired people should be ok, it's the next generation after I worry about. Also people under the age of 40 should be ok too, they have time to restart their planning.
