Ethical meat/fish delivery box

Does anyone know of a reasonably priced meat (and fish ideally) home delivery box??
I'm looking for meat that is as ethically sourced as possible on a limited budget. Animal welfare is my highest priority and I am willing to reduce my meat intake to achieve this (have to work on the OH though!)
Any ideas?
I am not sure where you live but in our area - many of the local farmers will do a locally produced meat box or farm box - that way its locally sourced and you are supporting local farming - which kinda hits the ethical bit on the head as well, farmers who produce their own meat for selling to customers have really high welfare standards as that is the market they are tapping into. You are also using less miles transportation, keeping money in the local ecomony etc etc etc etc Sorry I am sure you know all this already!!
Local butchers or farmers markets should be your source of info -
The bulk of poorly produced meat IMHO isn't broadcasted locally for sale its usually for larger wholesalers who beat the prices down.

I was really pleased with the Slow Food meat box from Sheepdrove. (Annoyingly, they don't do weekly deliveries, so you just have to make an order every time you want a meat box.) For £25 I got a good-sized box of meat, mostly of the long, slow cooking type. From memory, a good-sized joint of brisket, equally large rolled breast of lamb joint, a belly pork joint, beef mince, cubed beef skirt, cubed leg of lamb and pork sausages. As a bonus, an enormous armful of fresh rosemary, a good bunch of fresh parsley and a jar of apple chutney. I added up the price of all the meat items (from the labels on the meat) and it came to £34.
They were also doing half-price organic chickens - I bought a good load for the freezer.
If you are local, they deliver free, but otherwise you have to pay for delivery.0 -
Got this in an email if it's any use:£10 off Monthly Meat boxThe Well Hung Meat Co. uses traditional butchery practices to produce award-winning meat and is the only online organic butcher who deliver to the whole of the UK.
Order their monthly meat box at www.wellhungmeat.com or call 0845 230 3131 and receive £10 off your first box when you quote the promo code NEWMMB09"The happiest of people don't necessarily have the
best of everything; they just make the best
of everything that comes along their way."

I am going on a site called ' well hung meat' esp as I'm at work"An arrogant and self-righteous Guardian reading tvv@t".

Check with your local farmers as a lot of them now do their own butchery. Alos does your local butcher not display where they have sourced their beef etc from, ours does. If you know that it has came from the fields of your area, then I would say that you cannot really get any better than that.
That said I am lucky that way as I stay in the country, so know all the local area and farms.0
