BM overcooking bottom of loaf?

I got a new breadmaker this week, it's a Morphy Richards one, i've only done two loaves but both time the bottom half of the loaf has been overcooked. The first loaf was a french one so quite crispy, I thought maybe it was meant to be like that (although it was really hard and a bit burnt at the bottom) but the second one was a fastbake white loaf, the top was really white and soft but the bottom half was dark brown and really hard.
I'm putting all the ingredients in the order it says. Do you think it's worth ringing the helpline and asking them?
Thanks in advance

Are you baking the bread on the right colour setting? the darker the colour setting the longer it bakes. Try putting the setting to light or medium it might help. If it doesn't try the helpline by all means.Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

The first loaf was on medium, the second was on light and the top of the loaf was light and soft and really nice but half way down it went really dark. I'm doing another one today, i'll do it on the light setting and see how it turns out. If that was in the same i'll ring the helpline because it might be faulty. Thanks for replying:heart: Think happy & you'll be happy
