I have recently talked to William Goldberg about my credit card debt of £1800. They said they can clear the debt in 30months paying £100 a month!!!
You do the maths.0 -
A tidy £1200 profit for them...
I have nothing against people charging for a service, i.e. look at mobile phone contracts. The problem i see with Debt Management companies is they end up keeping you in debt longer because you are paying them non refundable fees, and since you are liable anyway if they make a mistake the creditors will come straight to you anyway! Your not buying any protection, just staying in debt longer.Although no trees were harmed during the creation of this post, a large number of electrons were greatly inconvenienced.
There are two ways of constructing a software design: One way is to make it so simple that there are obviously no deficiencies, and the other way is to make it so complicated that there are no obvious deficiencies0 -
I too used William Goldberg. At the beginning they were very friendly and helpful but after a few months I started to get letter from my creditors saying I had missed payments. That is when the problems started, call to William Goldberg went ignored and when I requested someone call me back they never did. When I eventually got to speak to an manager he told me he could not care less if I was happy or not. Since then I have changed to a different company, and I would advise anybody thing of using William Goldberg , dont.0

i have had an account with william goldberg since feb this year, and have had ongoing problems with them. I.e not sorting out my agreement properly so my debts got higher and in one case defaulting, never returning calls, generally being rubbish.

so i have taken the bull by the horns and cancelled my agreement,
i have since found they have taken £100 from my bank card, as a "termination fee" and then 2 days later another £10.
Neither of which i was advised were being taken, so neither of which i authorised.
When i called them to query this all they would say is it's in the terms and conditions etc.
BUT in their own literature under the FAQ section it says and i quote
"You can stop you debt management plan at any time. we will never send you a bill for our services and you will never owe us any money"
there is NO reference to the "termination fee" anywhere:mad:
So i wondered if anyone could tell me if i have a leg to stand on with getting me money back??
i have filled a dispute through my bank, as i never said they could take the money, i have also cancelled my card so they cant take any more money and i have written to william goldberg to demand a refund enclosing a highlighted copy of the FAQs they sent out, but am not hopeful of a refund as an outcome
All in all i would advised steering clear of these people as they are complete rubbish
but if anyone has any info on who to contact for more info(iykwim) that would be great0
