Bankruptcy - why isnt it on my Credit report

I was declared bankrupt in January 2008, and discharged in July 2008. Its now Feb 2009, and I decided to check my credit report with Experian for the first time. To my amazement, it doesnt show anywhere that I was either bankrupt or discharged, only that I am late making payments on somethings by so many months, or have defaulted. Anyone know why? I contacted Experian and they told me to chase up the Official Receiver, I rang them and spoke to someone who didnt know my case, who said he would fax a copy of the order to experian, last week, but checking it today, theres no change? Anyone know what to do?

It is usually your creditors who tell the CRA's you are BR not the OR.
You need to ask the creditors to change the details on your report to reflect when you went BR. There are template letters in the sticky at the top of board.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Thanks, Im not being funny, but what if they dont want to? After all if they want to get me back then they just ignore me right? Do you think that the credit check companies will do it if I provide proof?
Oh, and sorry, new to this site, where is the sticky with the letters?
thanks0 -
Here is a link to the CRF clean up sticky.

They have to change it by law, so don't worry. It might take a while but it can be done.BSCno.87The only stupid question is an unasked oneLoving life as a Kernow Hippy0 -
Thanks again, much appreciated0

Whilst it might be that Experian haven't seen or linked your bankruptcy, there is the possibility that you are shown as bankrupt but your report doesn't show it. This could be because Credit Expert works on an user input basis in that it only retrieves information based on the information you give them. For example, if you have two addresses but only input one, only the creditors at the address you input appear. There will be an address link but it won't actually show the files. The same happens if there is a discrepancy in your address. Lenders, however, always see all information.
I'm not sure if the postal report works on the same basis but it is how the online report works.0
