Halfords mens bike. Are they any good.

I am looking at buying an apollo mountain bike from Hlafords for £149. Just wondered if anyone could give me any feedback on whether they are any good or not. Thanks.

No I do not feel Halfords bikes are any good as:
    -The parts rust.
    -The bikes are heavy.
    -The internal parts cheaply/poorly made.
-If the wheels buckle, which they probably will, Halfords will claim it is as a result of the bike being used to perform tricks as opposed to poor build quality.

Personally I wouldn't touch a Halfords bike with a barge pole.

  • That's probably true not just of Halfords bikes but any bike that can be sold new for £149. You are probably better looking for a quality, named, second hand bike that can be bought for a great deal less than it's new price. Just make sure that the owner really did buy the bike, there are a lot of nicked bikes around!
