Jobcentre ads scraping the barrel now

1/A common ad is for people to deliver leaflets for an unknown charity collecting clothes. You are then asked to collect the clothing and take to a drop off point.Turns out with a lot there is no charity and they are just doing it for themselves as a profit making exercise.
2/Also seen a lot of ads saying collect/deliver brochures £7.28 per hour.Contacted a few and they were all kleeneze agents.I asked where they got the £7.28 per hour from which is very misleading.

Not the jobcentre but our local job paper often used to advertise for "escorts".The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

One today was drivers wanted for escort agency to drop off/pick up their girls.0

If the job centre is not offering the type of jobs you want then you need to go out and look for one yourself.
Bozo0 -
Bozo 25 years driving uk and abroad in the courier industry now all the work dried up.Local area job seeker allowance claimers total has doubled to 7,000 in the past 2 months.Locally 4 job centres have got to set on 100 new advisers to cope. Do you think i wish to sit about ? What am i saying is scammers and illegal operators are preying on the unemployed via jobcentres.0

If you see jobs advertised at the Jobcentre which turn out to be nothing like the advert (inc wage), make a complaint to the Labour Market & Recruitment Adviser at the Jobcentre, quoting the job reference and giving as much detail as you can about the discrepancy (e.g. name of who you spoke to at the employer, date and time, exactly what they said, etc.).0

But there is courier work available, just not that many loads at the moment. The Very Right Honourable Lady Tarry of the Alphabetty thread-I just love finding bargains and saving moneyI love to travel as much as I can when I canLife has a way to test you, it's how you deal with this that matters0

Tarry i have always worked self-employed using the vehicle and fuel belonging to the company i was working for at the time.A lot now are undercutting each other so much they close to breaking point.
Why do you think so many companies ask for owner drivers now as they know they lose nothing if the work dries up.I used to go to around 13-14 countries per year delivering various goods but a lot of the contracts went to foreign courier/haulage companies.0 -
I see your point

Why is there nowhere on the jobcentre site to report misleading adverts?
Most employers now place the adverts themselves.
When my son was looking for a job there were lots of agencies advertising a job,but when you contacted them, there was no job, looks like they just wanted to gather your details. It's wrong to raise peoples hopes.
Also jobs that claim you can earn so much per hour, but turn out to be commission only.0
