Can you travel overseas during BR?

Please can anyone tell me if I am allowed to travel during BR?

Yes you can, but if it's for extravagent holiday purposes or seen as non-essential, your OR might have something to say about it.

  • I want to go home to see my family....do I have to inform the OR before I go? I mean, if I am not paying for it myself?

If you're going to be out of contact for a while you might want to tell the OR - otherwise if you're going but someone else is paying for you to go, I don't see that being a problem at all.

Others who are more qualified to answer will no doubt be along shortly but that's my 2p's worth! Should really add my 2p's to my SOA :)
