I've only ever heard from them when I'm flicking thru the channels and have seen them on QVC but these Amazon one's are a lot cheaper.

Anyone know whether they're waterproof? A watch isn't worth a bean to me unless it can deal with me forgetting to take it off before I go swimming!

Have a look at https://www.skagen.co.uk -- the whole range is there and it should give you waterproof details and other information on the particular model you like.

I missed the delivery of mine this morning cos I was at uni so am hoping to get it tomorrow, but it says I've got to wait 48 hours! Might just chance it anyway cos I missed another parcel at the same time and that one only says 24 hours

! so lots of thanks for this!!!!
  • The watches in the SKAGEN collection are water resistant to varying degrees.
Please refer to the back of your watch for the resistant rating.

    sun_icon.gifNO MARKING
If there is no marking on the watch, the watch should be treated as not water resistant.
    cloud_icon.gif3ATM - 5ATM (100-150 feet)
The watch withstands splashes from water and rain. Should not be submerged.
    swimmer_icon.gif10 ATM (330 feet)
The watch withstands water and can be used for sailing, swimming and showering.
Note:Watches will only be water resistant as long as the crystal, crown, push buttons, case and gaskets remain intact.
TIP: Keep your watch water resistant
    • Do not operate crown or buttons when the watch is wet or submerged
    • Avoid chemicals (petrol, chlorine, perfume, alcohol etc.) as they may corrode the gaskets.
    • Reduce the exposure to heat (i.e. keep away from radiation and hot water)
    • Have your watch serviced by an official service centre.
Thanks to all who post constructively.

I'm not sure what the 11 question marks are for, but just in case you have learning difficulties I will try to explain for you. Somebody in this thread said that a watch is no use to them unless it is waterproof, because they might forget to take it off before swimming (post 8). Sombody else said that the the Skagen website gives details of things like waterproofing (post 22). I have now posted the waterproofing information from that website, in a further effort to help the person that asked the question in post 8.

It definitely does not say that they are all water resistant. If you have trouble understanding things then it might be better to read the thread, rather than posting a string of question marks and an incorrect statement. ;)
Thanks to all who post constructively.
