Haggle with Existing Lender Over Arrangement Fee?

Hi There

I've been offered 4.49% 2yrs fixed from A+L (my existing lender) with modest arrangement fee. They could offer as low as 3.69% fixed 2yrs - but the big arrangement fee put me off this one.

Abbey are offering 2yrs fixed at 4.49% with no fees.

Is there any point in trying to haggle over the arrangement fee with my existing lender, so I could stay with A+L?

Thanks in advance for any advice!

Hell yes what have you got to lose !!
Tell them you are looking at other lenders with fee free deals and may have to move mortgage because you cant afford this BIG fee that A& L want.
Light the blue touch paper and stand well back !!!
No harm in trying and if you dont ask you dont get
What can they say NO you have to pay fee like all the rest
Then its up to you pay or move lender ( if you can find a better deal )
It helps if you have a good LTV , regular income, safe job, good credit score etc GOOD LUCK
