pension plan investment options help

i am due to start a new job (lucky i know) with a pension plan that will pay 8% of my monthy wages into my pot.

i have the option of a freestyle plan that lets me invest into seperate funds
supplied by BGI
GLOBAL EQUITY.
CORPORATE BONDS
CASH
UK EQUITY
OVER 5 YEAR INDEX FUND

their is also a Prudential specialist fund to put into(equity).

what would a good spread be on a medium risk with maybe 1 high risk

30 years untill i retire at 65 so its a long term pension

  • Given how long you have until retirement, and on the mantra that historically equities have outperformed the other asset classes you list, if I were in your position I would be putting everything into equities - the particular flavour you choose (Global, UK, Prudential) depends on personal preference I guess.
