If there's a recession on, why's everything going up in price so much!?

Aye, I've got the Arcam A65+ in my stereo set up, love the Arcam sound and want similar quality for my 5.1. At the moment I'm running a Marantz SR5400, a cracking AV amp but reckon my B&W's should be fed with something a little more special!
As for £300 cables... I think it's just different sounds rather than better ones when they get above a certain price point, but it's all very much down to personal tase. Mind you, I'm running QED silver anniversary speaker cable and it dicks on anything lower priced!
I've also got a Russ Andrews yellow powercord... I don't think it should work, I'm dubious of the physics behind it, but it's one of the best upgrades I've ever made!
God damn it, why did I brave the snow and come to work, now I want to go home and play with my toys :rotfl:
tr3mor - which model did you get? Not all tellys are born equal

aghaghaghagah Russ Andrews.
You pay for a £10 product and the rest is spent being on their mailing list for eternity.
I'll say again.... buy 2nd hand!0 -
I know mate, most of his stuff is overpriced and makes outrageous claims, they lost a court case because of it once... but I know what I hear!
Anyway my Dad bought it for me so I'm blame free
Will be using Mark Grant next time. I am not really an Eskimo. I can hear what you're thinking... "Inuit!"0 -

You've bought an asset that won't be worth more than you paid in 5 years.... not even remotely close as it will probably be an old technology by then. But we all know this when we buy them.
No, he bought a (now) thousand pound TV for not much more than half that, I'd say that was pretty good going!
What it's worth now or in five years is irrelevent, it's a TV not an investment.
What it actually cost him is very relevent however.Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -

I picked up a Denon dvd player a few years ago, the 2200 with the most amazing picture I've ever seen... until last week when it was blown out of the water by a 1080i upscaler 1/5 of the price, I was gutted!
I remember when the Diamonds first came out, the press went mental over them. Good choice mate.
I also picked up a samsung LE37A656A before Christmas for £624, cheapest price is now £650... looks like I got lucky on that one
abaxas - thinking about buying second hand (I'm on AVF pretty much every day), but there's nothing like that new toy smell!!
Thaks mate. The Diamond nines are lovely, but I'm already wondering if I shouldn't have got the 9.1's, just feel that the 9s are a touch lacking in the low/mid range. I didn't want the size of the 9.1's though and I wanted to put them on small brackets.
Maybe I'll move the front 9's back to the middle at some stage and get the 9.1's and have myself a 7.1 system, that'd be pretty cool. :cool:Hi, we’ve had to remove your signature. If you’re not sure why please read the forum rules or email the forum team if you’re still unsure - MSE ForumTeam0 -
Boxing day saw a Sony 32 inch lcd tv for £299, pondered too long and it had gone when I decided I wanted it. Now some places are advertising it at £399 & £469.0
