    I agree Lenny - my parents were very hard up - Dad was (until he damaged his knee just before Christmas) a milkman which pays a pittance wage wise and my Mum raised to 4 of us and didn't have a part time job from me being 4 until I was about 14.....god knows how they paid for presents etc. My Mum was (and still is really) a real Old Style cook and we never went without, but I understand the worry when letters about school trips were handed over now.
