Need solicitor to sign ID - covered by legal aid?

I've been offered a job but I need to have my id signed by a solicitor before I can start... I'm currently in receipt of JSA and wondered if I could get legal aid to pay for this for me...?

thanks

I had to do this recently and had to pay for it.

you could speak to your job centre they might be able to help as its a back to work expense, I'm not sure about that though

when I did it the lawyer sent me a bill so I was able to pay it off my first wages.

you can supposedly get it done for as little as £5

    cost me £25 though

Why does the ID have to be signed by a solicitor in particular? For example, many other occupations are acceptable for signing passport applications.

In my case it was because the company was based in the USA and only a lawyer can legal swear that the ID is yours
