B & Q discount.

  • Has anyone else noticed that B&Q have increased prices for the 20% off event taking place this weekend Friday-Sunday?

I was looking yesterday at a Mountfield Scarifier which was priced on their website (diy.com) at £79.98. Today I went into the store to buy it and the price has been increased to £89.98. Therefore, in effect, only giving a 10% discount on yesterdays price. What a con!

It will be interesting to see if the price is reduced back down to £79.98 after this weekend.

Someone already posted about this on the 20% off £50 thread http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showpost.html?p=31000071&postcount=22

Posted in the wrong section as well as it's not a discount code or voucher
  • Sorry about that. It's the first time I've posted anything. I tried to do a search on the forums but nothing came up

I just read the information about 15% B&Q from this page: http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/deals/cheap-diy-home-garden-deals#bandq

It says that if you spend £50 or more then you get 15% off and a card that gives you 10% for future purchases. My questions are:

    1. Does this card last forever or have some kind expiry?
    2. Could you use the card during the 15% off period to get 15% + 10%?

If anyone is able to help then that will be great. If not then I'm sure I'll find out come Friday when the offer starts.

    TIA

It said on the advert the 10% card will be valid for May. I don't think you will be able to use the 10% on top of the 15% but i'm not 100% on that.

I have been into our local store today, and was told at checkout i couldn't have both, but i spoke to the manager and he agreed the wording was very misleading, so he is contacting head office and letting us know next week the outcome

I went in store today as well and the store staff said the 15% and 10% wouldn't stack. Not sure how useful it will be head office confirming next week because the 15% off is only until Monday. I can see them delaying their response until Tuesday after which it doesn't really matter what they say.

The 10% card is only until the end of May though.

Awesome, I should have tried that trick but I only got my 10% card on my first transaction and didn't have anything else to buy.
