Quick help please; apple & wine sauce?!

Options
Hi all,

I was planning to do chicken in an apple sauce tonight (to make the sauce I usually use apple juice or cider with slices of bramley apples in)... but I've forgotten to buy any apple juice! I've got plenty wine (white and red) which I never drink, and as I've bought the apples I really should use them up.

So..... would a sauce made with wine & apples taste any good?! Or should I forget the apples and do some sort of wine-based sauce (which I've never actually done...)?

If it won't work, I'll have to get OH to go into Sainsburys on the way home from work, so quick answers would be really really appreciated.

Thanks!

littlesnuggy - white wine will be just fine, and if you have some cream as well to add at the end you will end up with a lovely Normandy-style dish.
