Is safe to have a freezer standing on carpet?

I need an extra freezer and the only room for it is in my bedroom. Is it safe to have it standing on carpet? or is it safe to have it in the airing cupboard (there is a plug inside) with the cupboard door shut?

Yes, it is fine to be standing on a carpet.
Don't put it in the airing cupboard, it might not get enough ventilation, the coils at the back rely on having some air to function properly. If it looks like a duck, and quacks like a duck, we have at least to consider the possibility that we have a small aquatic bird of the family anatidae on our hands

I guess it's common sense. Thank you I was going to put it in my bedroom anyway I just wanted to make sure it was safe.0

My Mum has to have her fridge/freezer in her spare bedroom because of lack of space in kitchen. She's had 2 over the last 16 years and she's had no problem whatsoever. Bit of a pain protecting the carpet when defrosting but nothing major.I guess it's common sense. Thank you I was going to put it in my bedroom anyway I just wanted to make sure it was safe.0
