pension & tax

could someone pls advise
my husband pays a private pension with standard life of £150 per month by dd.
he is a higher tax payer is he entitiled to any tax relief back? i read previously on here that he is.
he has sent info twice but have had no info back is it worth chasing?( he now doubting)
he has had pension since 2002 and been higher tax payer since 2005
thanks in advance for any help

    If he pays directly to his pension out of taxed income (i.e. not an occupational scheme); then if he is a 40% tax payer he can claim tax back.

    So for last year he will already get 22% tax relief but he can claim the 18% back ... presumably he has a statement from the Pension company showing his yearly contributions.

    so on that amount of money for 2007-8 he can claim back

    150 x 12 /78% x 18% = £415.
