Lots of eggs to use - easy fruit cake?

Options
I am hopeless at making cakes, but I can see half a dozen eggs going in the bin unless I do some baking! I have some dried fruit (out of date as well but what the hell). I need an easy recipe for a fruit cake if anyone can help.

I also have a tin of pears and a tin of strawberries (bought as they were cheap). Any suggestions of an easy pudding to make with either of these? Only thing I can think of is a pear sponge which sounds vile!

Maybe you could make basic sponge with currants or sultanas. I am going to be making my banana and sultana fruit loaf either today or tomorrow at the latest as I bought very ripe bananas for 20p the other day and will use up my sultanas in the cupboard. The only thing is that this has to be eaten within 2-3days due to bananas in it but its lovely

Pear Sponge is lovely , try making pancakes and freezing them or have omelette for lunch/dinner.
Blessed are the cracked for they are the ones that let in the light

That sounds like something my OH would love! What quantities do you use?
