ED Question

Hi,
Is it possible to get ED even if your house hasnt been reposessed yet?
This is one thing that really confuses me!Is there a certain order things go in when properties are involved....
Last time we heard from the OR they mentioned something about passing it to the RTLU but have heard nothing since.
Keep hoping we may get ED letter but then Im not sure if this is possible!
Think the brightness of the snow must be making me daft the last couple of days :-)

    Hi,
I don't know about the house repossession part and ED but I received a letter from the RTLU back in July and haven't been discharged yet.

    Thanks for reply,
Had no letter from RTLU so am presuming it must not have been passed to them yet.
Its all gone very quiet, suppose they must be very busy at the moment.
Will continue to keep our heads down till we hear anything :-)
Been 5 months now and had very little contact at all...keep expecting something to pop through the letterbox....not sure what though!

It will show on the IS register when you've been passed to RTLU.

  • Is ED noted on IS register when passed to RTLU or when they decide to give you ED. We had new IPOQ form fortnight ago and were told it would probably take 6 - 8 weeks. Nothing has changed on IS register (unless I'm looking in wrong place)

It won't show on the register until you're actually discharged.

  • Just checked IS register. Friend's son was discharged in November 08 (full year not ED) but he is still showing Bankrupt on the search. If you go into the name you see on the full write up that he is discharged. Should he do something to get main site changed or does it stay that way for the 6 years

Ok you do not get passed to the RTLU for ED. You are usually passed over to them (just another department of the IS service)if you have any-: assets worth anything, a house that needs to be delt with or an IPA. The Regional Trustee and Liqidator Unit is like a financial side of things. Usually if you have one or more of the afore mentioned and the OR has finished investigating your case he transferrs your file to them. All your dealings from then on in, will usually be with them. You do normally get a letter from the OR's office informing you of this.

If you have non of the above then your case file normally stays with the OR until either ED or AD.

May take a while for the IS website to update it's records. Took two wks for my ED to show, some have been done quicker ,whilst others have taken longer. 3 months after either ED or AD date your details are removed from the website.

It will disappear off the register altogether this month, 3 months after discharge, so no need to have it changed.
