CAN ANYONE PLEASE HELP ME I TOOK OVER FROM THE PREVIOUS ACCOUTNS LADY AND SHE HAS LEF IT IN A MESS.

MY BANK BALANCE IS SHOWING LESS THAN IT SHOULD BE ON 1 NOV 08 (NEW FINANCIAL YEAR) I NEED IT THE SAME AS BANK BALANCE HOW DO I CHANGE IT

Find the last month in which the bank account did reconcile with sage (taking into account unpresented cheques and uncredited bankings) and reconile from then to 31 October. Accounts lady should have kept working papers that usually include a bank reconciliation. If you need any more, just ask

OK this is what I would do for now, reconcile it as best you can and post the difference to the suspense account. BTW, how much is the difference? If it's only a few pounds it won't matter and you will have an accurate point to start from for November. You should be reconciling your bank account monthly in accordance with your bank statements. If, however the difference is hundreds or even thousands then you will have to go back to year end 31 October 2007 to find out the opening balance on your bank statements and what was showing on Sage, and try to reconcile the whole year. If the difference is a Bank Receipt it could mean that your vat accounts are incorrect. Funny though, I am at work doing my January bank rec at the moment. HI I DID TRY BACK IN DECEMBER BUT I HAVE BEEN PUTTING IT OFF TO BE HONEST, I KNEW IT WOULD NEVER GO AWAY BUT WAS KIND OF HOPING IT WOULD

ANYWAY AS I SAID EARLIER SHE HAD TWO LOTS OF SAGE SO SOME TRANSACTIONS ARE ON THERE.

I WILL DO WHAT I CAN FOR NOVEMBER DECEMBER AND JANUARY AND THEN SEE HOW IT GOES FROM THERE

Click on the persons name to the right and a drop down list will give you the option to PM.

Cindiedunkly seems the best option, reconcile as much as you can and post the difference to suspense to try and work through at a later date?!

Go to private messages where is says welcome and on the left you should be able to send a private message. I have never done it before so I am going to try it now and see if you get it.

What kind of accounts lady have you taken over from? Did she have a quick exit with no handover to you? What do you mean by two sets of Sage?

Don't fret too much, it's only numbers and it will all come out in the wash.
