Job ads mentioning umbrella

Anyone explain to me what umbrella means on some job ads ive seen, heres an example

    Agghhh these i avoid, means you have to deal with your own tax and nat insurance etc, basically you have to become self employed
    Life is about give and take, if you can't give why should you take?

    That particular job shows a PAYE rate and an Umbrella/limited company rate, might be worth a look if you are looking for a paye contract.

    Im not particularly looking for a PAYE contract
