Employment Tribunal Advise

Hi everyone,

I have finally worked out how to create a new thread. I do apologise for posting this again. I'm looking for help on how to represent my self at the tribunal. Like I said on someone's thread, I was dismissed on grounds of gross misconduct. The accusations were untrue and the investigation procedure was wrong. I can not afford legal costs so I will represent my self.

Has anyone ever represented them selves to the Employment Tribunal?
If yes,
Where do I start?
How do I make my statement?
What kind of questions would be asked during the hearing (Tribunal)?

Your help will be much appreciated.

On what grounds was the procedure "wrong"?
Do you have evidence of this?
Have you registered with the Employment Tribunals Service?
Have you been to the CAB or contacted ACAS?
Can I assume you are not in a union?
  • OK, Mosdee, new thread started so that all information about ETs can be kept together. I'm hoping it will become a useful sticky. Look for EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL HELP. Sorry I can't get any further with it right at the moment, but I'm sure it will grow!
Ex board guide. Signature now changed (if you know, you know).

    Hi floss2,
thanks for your response. I have writen a abit of what happened. Have a look at the EMPLOYMENT TRIBUNAL HELP thread. Let me know if you think there is enough evidence. I have not been to the CAB yet. I joined union after the incident so they said they could not help me out. I contacted ACAS, they advised me to take the case to the tribunal as my employer was unreasonable wasting time.
I can not provide much info for obvious reasons. Your help will be much appreciated.

I took an Employer to the tribunal when they refused to pay my final wage, I represented myself and did everything in writing. I did not attend the hearing nearly a year later due to new work commitments so everything was in writing. You need to write clear facts, with dates and any other information you think is relevant. make sure you work out exactly what they owe you including holiday pay you may not have used.

I won the case however i did not get the money back for my lunch breaks that I could never take.

It is a hard slog, it is wrong they do not add interest on the payment for all the time you have had to wait for it.
No you're not a vegetarian if you eat any animal or fish, so do not insult genuine veggies by calling yourself one!
