If you are going BR, there is no point in paying your creditors in the meantime - use that money to get a rented place, get it furnished appropriately for you and your family.

Be very careful about paying your mother money - the OR will have access to all of your statements going back at least 2 years, so if you choose to go down this path make sure you hide it very very well. And they can ask your mother for it back - if she hasn't got it, they can't have it, but obviously it can be rather stressful.
