Craft Lacquer

Hi - can someone help me. I am making a wooden storage box which I have painted in matt paint. I have used my cricut and diecut shapes and letters with cardstock and also chipboard. I have mounted the cardstock onto the chipboard so it is solid and then will attach to the storage box. However my hubby thinks I should lacquer the shapes and letters in something to add to the durability. The box is like a blanket box and is for a 4 year old and can be sit upon - so will need something durable - any ideas?
Thanks

Yes - I think I'd agree with your husband. Mod Podge might do the trick - its suitable for use on all kinds of surfaces. Its about £4 for a 8oz tub (Least it was last time I got some!!) and you can get it in a Gloss or Matt finish.0
