The Pensions Trust
Nala
My employer has the Pensions Trust as its scheme (they're in the process of moving us from the Series 3 plan to the Series 4 plan). They contribute 8% of my salary and I have to pay 6% plus I make AVCs of 9% (total from me is £115 monthly)
I save the full amount annually into my cash ISA and also have a regular saver paying 10% that I pay £500 per month into.
I'm all of a dither because I don't really know if I should be making the AVCs or not and don't know where to look for advice. So my question is, do I keep my AVCs at the same rate or reduce my payments to 6% and put the 9% into another savings account or throw the amount into this year's holiday budget!

It depends on your personal circumstances. There are other options available to you as well. Again, they will depend on your circumstances.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
thanks dunstonh. From your reply, would I be right in thinking that I really should track down an IFA for advice?0
