I have been a contractor for 3 and a half years. I was told by my aunt the other day (who is a recuritment agent) that im entitled to holiday pay.
However at the start of my contract (3 and half years ago) i was told i wouldn't be entitled.
Does anyone know for sure? I dont want to ask my agency incase they think im rocking the boat.
Thanks

ow do you pay tax? If it and Class 1 NI contributions are deducted by the organisation which pays you then you are a worker and would be entitled to paid holidays (at the minimum statutory amount). If you pay your own tax direct to HMRC then you are truly self-employed and no other body is responsible for paying you for holidays.
Statutory paid holiday also has to be taken in the holiday year to which it relates.0 -
Yes i pay tax and NI also. Its deducted by the organisation which pays my wage0

Have you been contracting with just the one client for the 3 1/2 years? If so, you might actually be employed, and therefore entitled to the rights any other employee has:

What is the organisation that pays your wage?
- the employer?
- an agency?
- an umbrella organisation?
- other?0
