Has anybody tried this? I have read that high doses of this are very successful in treating acne. I would be grateful of any feedback before I try it.
Thanks

Hi Mae,
I have suffered with acne for years, and most of the years I have continuously taken a multivitamin supplement that I think (assume!) includes B5. Most of these supplements are meant to contain 100% RDA, but my acne has never improved just with this. At present I am on Marvelon contraceptive pill (had to come off Dianette even though it worked a treat as not deemed safe for too many years of taking it), and use Isotrexin cream, the 2 together have so far kept my acne under control since December.Yesterday is today's memories, tomorrow is today's dreams

After suffering myself for years (started at 11, only really cleared up around 22 but still have problems now at 26!), I think I took anything and everything that promised to 'help'. Very rarely did anything alone help. Vitamins were one of my main targets, but I never had much success from supplements.
I would advise you seeking medical advice from your GP. I went and was referred to a dermatological clinic at one of my local hospitals. Whilst there, I was given a drug which I later found out was supposed to be for water infections, but worked a treat. I don't doubt that there's any substitute for a sympathetic GP's ear!!!0 -
Hi Indiegirl do you know the name of the drug you were given for for your acne but that was usually for water infections?0

Hi Mae
I've heard about B5 too, through poly cystic ovary disease groups, the woman who recommended it was talking about very very high doses, higher than you would find in a multivitamin. I haven't tried it myself, though.Debt Oct 2005: £32,692.94
