Bankruptcy and the nil tax code

It is unlikely you would get a nil tax code at this late stage in the year. Be sure to go BR by end of March/first week of April as that is when the new tax year starts. That was the main reason I chose the date I did as it was the last date of the last tax year so I knew I wouldn't have to get involved with the hassle of NTC.
I don't know why they don't just collect this direct from HMRC at the end of the tax year. Would be a lot easier to administer.
