I've tried it. Works well. Instead of ice you get a layer of dew on the windscreen which can be wiped off with the wipers. Only problem is that I keep forgetting to use it the night before..................

  • I have used it but sod's law the nights I've used it its not been particularly frosty then when I don't use it I've an inch thick of ice on the windscreen. However I haven't seen this stuff for a couple of years so thanks for the heads up and I'll pop into Halfords and get some.
  • My dad got me some for xmas. Have used it a couple of times on really hard frosts and to be honest, it didnt really work- had to use normal de-icer or scrape anyway. I wouldn't buy any again.

I've used it too, but found that it leaves the windows with a greasy film, so instead of not being able to see for the ice, you cant see for the grease :o . Still got an almost full bottle in the garage, but would rather use a scraper.

It works quite well from what I remember. I've found those fold up covers work well but are a bit of a faff to put on (better than ice-scraping in the morning though).
I'm now the proud renter of a garage so no more cold hands for me.

its okay for a very mild frost, even then you need to spray lots of it. Then if it rains overnight before getting icy youre back to square 1! Better of using a windscreen cover - longer lasting and no harmful chemical used! I have seen them for a £1 in Tesco!
