Was wondering can anyone help please, I bought a lexmark printer from comet and never been able to use it because the paper keeps jamming. I bought lexmark as I have had 2 previous ones and had no problems before. I took it back to comet to get it exchanged but they said I had to phone lexmark think its a London number (im in Fife) as they cant exchange it, they told me someone would come from Lexmark and take it to fix it or replace it! As I bought it from Comet are they not responsible for exchanging it or giving me my money back? its still well under the years guarantee  . Thankyou

Within 4 weeks i think you can swap it under the sales of goods act.Any longer it obviously has to be returned for repair.I think argos is 14 days whilst pc world and currys 28 days but i do not know about comet.0

if it within a week that you brought it and it can be shown to be faulty - by being tested in the shop which they would be able to do then they will have to offer you the choice of a replacement or a refund.
if however you have had it for some months then it is upto comets to arrange for its repair not you !0 -
Insist Comet deal with it, your contract is with them not Lexmark; -

Q6. Is it true that I have to complain to the manufacturer?
No. You bought the goods from the trader, not the manufacturer, and the trader is liable for any breaches of contract (unless he was acting as the manufacturer's agent).Don`t steal - the Government doesn`t like the competition0 -
Echo what others have said. They're just trying it on with you or are too thick to actually know the law.0
