I declared myself BR at the RCJ on the 29th Jan
I am just about over the shock!!
Got to Temple station at 9:40 and had to walk really slowly as I was liable to crap, pee, faint, buckle, puke all at once!!! really I felt awful. I got to the corurt with directions to the Fees office I started the journey up stairs down stairs, along corriedors, through great halls. I managed to get there 10mins later without fainting. I waited in line for about 10 mins with about 7 people in the queue (I was 4th yay!! on time for once in my life).
Office opened at 10am got to the the counter about 10:03 "SOA please?" the lady says, I hand it over. "fee please?" had that over - read on the notice board that one can pay by cheque, that was interesting I wonder if thats with or without a guarentee card and what if it bounces? do you become unbankrupt
- anyway I got my receipt and directions to head to the BR office. upstairs, down stairs, along corridors, through great halls, through car parks, then arrived at the BR office.
Ok this is London and customer service is hard to find so I don't know why I expected it in the London RCJ BR office. I think because of the pleasantness people on the site have experienced but no, no luck here. Although, as a Londoner I know it wasn't personal just the rat race.
So got to the window went throw my SOA "crossout and initial your student loan" she say's "Why" I say as nicely as possilble (still fretting they will throw me in the dungeons if I look at them the wrong way) "just cross it out, please" - I thought the non provable bit only applied on student loans after 2004 obviously not, but why she couldn't explain that........
on and on and on "sign here", "sign there" "read this" "read that"..."you need to swear now what bible do you want" "Do I have to use a bible?" "do you want to use a bible?" (lord give me strength) "no thank you" blah blah blah all done "come back at 2:30". Out at 11am. Phew? yay? Argh?
I went off had an eye test, got my cars tax disc, moved the last hundreds (of pennies that is) from my bank, applied for a Barclays account, lunch with my mum -SURPRISINGLY VERY PRODUCTIVE AFTERNOON (for someone who's life has just hit the reset button). I went back at 2:15 sat in a room of about 20 people including the lady dripping with fur and diamonds whose brief spoke to every 'commoner' on her behalf- hehe  (the OR's gonna get you I sang in my head).
Then the snooty BR lady came in and called all our names, she whispered mine for some reason but thankfully, so the hidden news of the world reporter didn't get it. I got my ceritificate, order, bundle, (what do we call it and should I frame it) then off to my son's school for a meeting with his teacher ('little star' apparently thank goodness as my shock and numbness and joy could have exploded into a crazy parent-teacher outburst). Dropped my son at my mum's, fed him and put him to sleap, then off for drinks with work mates 'Where?' down the road from the court on Fleet street it was hilarious (well for me anyway) got totally ........ went home and everything went back to normal the next day after a bacon butty.
Checked my details on the IS website and yes I am there I still am not sure how I feel and I have loads of questions but I have given my brain the weekend off after the stress of the last through months.
Thank you, thank you, thank you one and all for your help, advise and support. I can't tell you how much this site has helped me through this all.
Updates to follow.

Hi Donna - you been away or snowed in?

Hi FYP!
been away in Scotland, which strangely did not have as much snow as we had back home, got home to a lovely unspoilt garden with five/six inches of snow in it - didn't last long though as built a snowman complete with carrot nose for the kids and the dogs have trampled all over it now.
