Mortgage advice

If my hubby was to get a mortgage would it be possible at this present time with a settled default on his file but no other credit?
He earns 18,000 so how much could he borrow and what deposit would he need?
Thankyou.

At the bottom of the link there is a Natwest calculator which tells you how much your hubby could borrow. Try that for a rough idea.

Well you might be able to - I say that as I know nothing about your circumstances or what prices you are looking at.
But you are going to need a large deposit, if it is indeed possible.
Do you earn, have any debts or children?I am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. You posted a thread yesterday saying the following:Need advice on several areas, here goes:
Going to stop paying mortgage and declare myself bankrupt
How does this tie in with this thread?0 -
Without being rude, that really isn't our business.0

I think it is, if it affects the mortgage application that they are looking at

I think it is very relevant to the thread if the OP is stopping paying her mortgage, declaring herself bankrupt but wanting to take on a new mortgage through her husband. Particularly in answer to herbiesjp's post asking if the OP has any debt.0 -
THE OTHER THREAD HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH THS AND i AM NOT LOOKING TO DISCUSSS THAT ON THIS THREAD. My situation will not affect my hubby as he has no joint debt with me including the mortgage it is all in my name. The reason I am asking is so I ca look at our future. It may be he could get a cheap property and then we wouldnt have to rent.0
