Distance/Home learning courses - funding available?

I've just been made redundant and i'm just looking at various options of what to do next.

It's a bad time of year to try getting onto many part time college courses, since i've missed January enrolment, and now i'll need to wait until September.

The only other flexible start time courses i can find are work based NVQ's, which i can't do yet for obvious reasons.

I was wondering i there are any home learning courses which can apply for funding. A google came up with a company named ICS but they don't appear to accept government/LSC funding..

Apart from the OU, I can't think of any distance learning courses you could get funded. You might be able to do the work based NVQs if the work they were based on was unpaid. You might want to discuss this with the JCP.
