hubby opened a barclays one prior to court, he was allowed to keep it.
We both opened a Cashminder account after we left the court. Told them we had just been made BR, Accepted instantly. very easy.0 -
would te official reciever close it down then possibly is that what u mean? also do thy come and look at your house i.e I have a pasma tv worth approx 800 would thy take it off me? plus what happens with things such as internet obviously not allowed unless for work so could pay for it out of household money etc but then would OR find out? do thy check bank account statements intermitantly?0

they dont usualy bother with things like that realy as you use them daily, the OR will not search you home they generaly only go buy the info you give them0

The OR could close it down but if you tell him you opened for post BR purposes you should be fine (unless you live in Brighton) So far Brighton OR's are the only ones we have heard about who do close a Coop account. Whatever you decide be sure to empty all bank accounts before your BR day as the OR can take it - they won't necessarily take it but don't risk it.

It's not the official receiver that closes bank accounts, it's the banks themselves.
And they do not come round your house - they will not be interested in any assets that are worth less than £1,000 or are antiques, etc.Get free advice before embarking on bankruptcy: CCCS 0800 138 1111 National Debtline 0808 808 4000
