Does my passport get taken away during BR?

Hi Guys,

Another question I need to get off my chest before declaring bankrupcy......it is in connection of travel and passports.
My girlfriend is travelling to China for a year in August with her university, I would really like to visit her for a period of 2-4 months whilst she is over there.
Would the OR block this and would going bankrupt affect my chances of travelling over there?

I really need your advice.

No wont block your chances of going.....wont touch your passport BUT if your out of the country for a few months let the official receiver know an address etc should they need to contact u

They could question the expense yes.......bankruptcy SOAs allow living expenses to the bear minimum so they would wonder where your going to get the cash from for a trip O/S seeing as you no longer have a line to credit etc

You are (usually) allowed a small holiday expense on your I&E so this would not be a problem

Mysterio is actually (with all due respect) a bit wrong.. the SoA allowed for a bankrupt is a lot more generous than those for someone on a DMP or IVA as they realise that you have no access to credit

You are free to go where you wish in the world. This is not a prison sentance. Just let the OR know- without going into too much detail or waffling.
