Thickening homemade soya yoghurt

Hi, I was wondering if anyone had any tips to help me thicken up homemade soya yoghurt. I have the Lakeland Bulk Yoghurt Maker, and so far the results have been disappointing. The first batch was very runny, more like drinking yoghurt. I tried adding tapioca starch to the second batch, after reading something on the Web, but the result was even worse, it didn't thicken at all and I ended up with warm soya milk!
There must be something that I can do to get it thick and yoghurty rather than runny - does anyone know? Thank you.

I use UHT cow's milk for making yoghurt. If I want a thicker yoghurt, I strain it through muslin
