Which lenders are fast/slow?

Hi,
We have had our offer on a house accepted. We have got a good deal, so we want to legally commit the sellers as soon as possible.
We are confident that there will be no 'issues'; We got an agreement in principle from Halifax for more than we need, and they said we had excellent credit history and they would not need to see any evidence of income. Our current lender said that they would definitely lend us the extra we require, plus more if we would like.
We are particularly interested in 5 year fixes at Brittania, Halifax, RBS or Natwest (who I understand are part of RBS anyway). So my question is, are any of these known for slow turnaround times at their end?
Thanks very much for your help.

As long as you are sure they are the best deals these are my experiences:
Britannia - don't know as never used directly
Halifax - normally very quick
NatWest/RBS - can be very picky, and have found them slow and tediousI am a Mortgage AdviserYou should note that this site doesn't check my status as a Mortgage Adviser, so you need to take my word for it. As per herbies post (I used to be a broker). Always found Halifax quick and easy to deal with, and RBS a complete chore.0

Thanks very much Andy and Herbie. We will steer clear of the RBS lot then I think.
Halifax are doing 4.69%, Britannia 4.39% (same arrangement fee) so if anyone has any knowledge of usual turnaround times at Britannia I would be grateful?0 -

A wise decision.
