Police spend £20,000 on cardboard officers
boy the credit crunch must be biting and they must be trying to cut down on wages and pensions.wonder if these policemen can decrease crime though.
maybe it is time for me to put a cutout of Rambo in my window and lawn to deter burglars.
on second thoughts maybe i'll be safer if i put browns cutout, the burglars wont bother because they'll know my house would be bust

£10,000 divide by 80 ....That means £120 each ...I would class that as robbery.
EDIT
Something is wrong with the maths in this articleCommercially-produced promotional cut-outs can cost from £12 and £30 each.

probably the rest was spent in gaurding the cutouts with real policemen as apparently some of the cardboard ones got nicked:rotfl:£10,000 divide by 80 ....That means £120 each ...I would class that as robbery.

see linkAvon and Somerset police insisted today the five models, understood to cost £100 each, are "absolutely not" intended as a cheap alternative to real crimefighters.
Instead they are helping the public familiarise themselves with the genuine articles and make them "more approachable", it claimed.
maybe the people who authorised this should be made to familiarise themselves with the dole officebubblesmoney :hello:0 -

I used to put a sign in my window when I was a student saying there was nothing left to burgle because someone had already nicked it all.0 -

Haunted hospital calls in exorcist
looks like the downturn is turning scary. people are starting to see things now and NHS funds will go to fund exorcism rituals
. wonder if it was a PFI hospital where the PFI costs frightened the nearby ghosts to start a protest march. bubblesmoney :hello:0 -

I didn't get burgled while I had that sign! But whether it was cause and effect I'll never know.
Sadly it was true, and the burglars had got everything I owned previously.0 -
in student accomodation it was fairly common to see windows left open or not secured especially where there were smokers around. strangers would wander and no one would know who lived there and who was a stranger. the place where i lived even the coin operated phone got nicked for the small change in it. another place where i lived the 2-3 ground floor rooms got broken and people lost everything including laptops etc and the police didnt bother even asking the people who lived upstairs if we saw anything. btw these rooms faced the back of the policestation with only a small empty ground inbetween. wont have been surprised if even the police station got robbed and the cops wouldnt have done anything about it.I didn't get burgled while I had that sign! another place where i lived in accomodation. a burglar broke in to the house when someone on maternity leave was in the flat with a new born baby, he stole jewellery and phones etc and boldly walked through all the rooms right in front of the scared mother holding the baby and walked out the front door. guess what the cop who investigated did- he came to her place and called the thief on the stolen mobile and asked him to bring it back. the thief asked him to fu*k off. end of story and the cop didnt even speak to us the neighbours to see if we had seen the thief. solving crime takes a back seat when paper filled exercises and cardboard policemen takeover.bubblesmoney :hello:0
