Does any one have any tips/advice as to how to secure some work over the summer. Mainly I wanna know when companies start recruiting for such and how to apply!

Sign up to as many agencies as you can.
Use your university careers service - usually they will advertise vacation work, often all year round (for the summer break).0 -
As said, sign up to lots of temping agencies, although beware lots won't take students so you might want to take that into consideration...
Your uni should have a jobshop where temp jobs are advertised, otherwise try gumtree and send speculative letters to all the large local employers. Good luck.There are many things in life that will catch your eye, only a few will catch your heart. Pursue those.0
