My wages were paid 1 week late and because of this i occured  £135 in bank charges, which my boss is refusing to cover.Could you tell me if they are responsible to pay for these charges or is that just it. He gave no reason just said I'm not paying your bank charges. The charges are direct debits and going overdrawn.
Thank You in advance for any help on this matter.

Do you have a contract that specifies when you get pai? ie last Friday of the month?
If they have broken this contract then you are fully right to ask for them to pay the charges0 -
I signed a contract 5 years ago but it only lasts a year and have not signed one since they have been paying my wages every friday for the past 5 years .
I have found this "The entitlement may be set out in a written contract, or it may be established by custom and practice."
Would I come under custom and practice ?
http://www.hmrc.gov.uk/manuals/eimanual/EIM01010.htm is the section where it is from which maybe of help to others also.0 -
If something happens that same for a long enough period it forms part of your contract, an implied contract.
The fact that they have been paying you every Friday for the last 5 years certainly makes it part of your employment contract.0
