HELP: Ebuyer or Amazon? Canon A620
smsmasters
On the 22 Jan 2006, (I've been waiting nearly 2 weeks) I ordered the Canon A620 from amazon uk for £214, the dispatch estimate was 1-2 weeks. Now, it has been changed to Feb 14 - 29, and I can't wait that long! So I could now be waiting 4 weeks! I also noticed that the price has increased to £221. Are amazon delaying my order because I managed to order at the lower price before they increased it?

However, I notced on ebuyer.co.uk that they are selling the same camera for £217.47 (free shipping) and they have 200+ in stock and ready to be dispatched. I've bought some speakers from them last november and they came within 3 days.

Should I cancel my order with amazon and reorder with ebuyer? It's only a £3 difference? I'm really !!!!!! off that amazon has delayed my order.
What would you do in my situation?

i would contact amazon before taking any other action.
beware ebuyer though, when the products work ,they work well, but there seem to be loads of negative reviews of their customer service.
the same camera is also available from:
http://www.pixmania.co.uk/uk/uk/152822/art/canon/powershot-a620.html
http://www.dabs.com/productview.aspx?Quicklinx=3T0G&SearchType=1&SearchTerms=a620&PageMode=3&SearchKey=All&SearchMode=All&NavigationKey=0
however, the best deal is probably:
£231.86 at PC world
http://www.pcworld.co.uk/product.php?sku=936867&camp_id=pricerunner_feed
im sure with some vouchers available around here you could get it at below 230, then purchase as "Collect @ Store item" meaning you could have it today!
anyone know vouchers pigsback etc for this?0 -
oh and i have this camera and this its great..!0

I use ebuyer regularly and have never had any problems... but they do have a bad reputation. I have the advantage of not being too far away from them, I can take it to the service counter if anything needs returning.
If the price is similar I would definitely go for Amazon as their CS is good if you have any problems later, for example if the camera develops a fault.
I would contact Amazon for an ETA as ukbandit says.0 -

I can't seem to find the contact link for amazon. :(Anyone help please?0

There's a link right at the bottom of the Amazon home page that says 'Contact us'. This takes you to a page where there's an option to contact them by email or phone.0

http://www.amazon.co.uk/exec/obidos/tg/browse/-/502564/ref=cs_nav_bn_cu/202-0113640-4955806 I don't see anything.
It says "Click on the relevant link to the left to select a topic." but I don't see anything on the left?
