Wage changed when I got the job!! advice needed

Hi all, wondering if anybody can help. I recently applied for a job, had an interview and got it! It was advertised at a certain wage but I have just had a letter of appointment where it states the wage is less than that advertised.

Wages were not discussed at the interview as i assumed I would get the rate that was advertised.

Is this wrong?

Thanks in advance.

that is very specific. Maybe they made a mistake when they typed the letter up. Only way to clear this up is to call them and ask.

As above really the only way is to ask them, perhaps it is a general mistake. I doubt it to be honest but the only way is to negotiate

Ring them and ask them, pointing out what the advert and your letter said.

Why did you not check at the interview?

I already work for the company but on a different section. I assumed the pay would be as advertised.

I will ring them Monday to check, hopefully they have it wrong:rolleyes:

Generally advice is for candidates to avoid asking about pay at an interview - you want to be offered the job first.
