I have just had my claim turned down by my IFA and would be grateful for any advise as to what to do next.

The IFA in question should have explained in their letter what to do if you are not happy with the outcome of their investigation
Information is also at http://www.which.net/endowmentaction/questions/the_process.html#thirteenAny posts on here are for information and discussion purposes only and shouldn't be seen as (financial) advice.0 -
If the policy was sold later than 1988, take it to the FSCS. If earlier, you can do nothing.

NO ( aside from the pre 1988 issue) if it was turned down by the IFA , surely that means they still exist, & the FSCS deal with firms unable to pay, not those that turn down

On what grounds?
There is little point continuing the complaint if the reason for refusal is genuine. Equally you could be getting refused unfairly.I am an Independent Financial Adviser (IFA). The comments I make are just my opinion and are for discussion purposes only. They are not financial advice and you should not treat them as such. If you feel an area discussed may be relevant to you, then please seek advice from an Independent Financial Adviser local to you.0 -
If you are still unhappy, take it to the Ombudsman for an impartial, albeit not necessarily always informed and accurate, review0
