help re WFTC can anyone do a sum?

:confused:Hi there, I have spent today glued to the phone waiting for my accountant to call....I called him this morning just confirming that indeed he HAD phoned the WFTC to let them know for def what I earned 07-08 It's not that its that much - £5719 but most of it is employed earning (p/time) and a little mystery shopping.
The guy there told me they hadn't but he would call me back with the figures I needed( for my husband self employed too).
He phoned me back with the figure each of us earned.
I took ages to get through to WFTC finally the girl said we need 2 figures for you
1) Employed gross income and
2) self employed net profit
I called the accountants and asked for this breakdown of the 5719, he said he would call me back!
Aaagh- no call and they must have gone home, what on earth will I do now?
Also the WFTC number is experiencing high volumes so I can't get through!!!!!
Im panicking:o
I know I earned £90 a week gross so can anyone tell me what the 2 figures are? I hate maths!!!!!!

So is it
1 year = 52.177457 weeks

so 90 x 52.177 = 4695.93

(or do I just multiply it with 52?)

Then 5719-4695.93=1023.07
so do you think the gross income is £4695.93 and the net profit is £1023.07

jeez:confused:

  • It doesn't matte what anyone thinks - It needs to be an ACTUAL figure. You gave Tax Credits an estimated income figure in July, and they've given you until 31 January to give them an actual figure.

This is what happens when you put things off - for whatever reason.

Do you have self assessment tax calculations (you & husband) for 2007-08? Would have been sent to you in the post, or if you're registered for Self Assessment online, you can log in and view your calculation.

2007-08 P60 will help with your part time work.
  • Thanks,
it's ok - the 5719 is an actual figure supplied by the accountant who gave me the actual figure for my husbands work too. It was just the breakdown of the figure I needed but have now managed to work it out. It is 52x90.
I honestly thought the accountant told me he would notify WFTC, I only phoned him today to double check that he had - and found out it wasn't done. Sorted now, called in and confident correct figure/breakdown has been given.
