  • This probably isn't what you want to hear but I doubt HMRC would give a monkeys that you left it this late and something that isn't their fault has stopped you submitting your return. That said, as I understand it, any penalties levied by failing to get your return in on time are only allowed to be as much as your tax bill, so if you don't owe anything, I don't think they can fine you.

But I could well be wrong on that - if I were you I would ring them for their advice.

its not my fault either(there are also people on other forums having the same problem)......and it was one the companies they state on their website.
and as stated previously there was tax to pay which has been paid.
At the end of the day if the company did their job properly and supplied what i paid for and you could actually get in contact with them ,the return would be already submitted....

This is why I thought you didn't owe anything:

I'm not personally accusing you of anything as I think your reply implied, I am just being realistic and telling you what I think HMRC are going to say. No need to get defensive!

wasnt getting defensive....just a bit annoyed that IR advise us to use certain companies so you do and then there is a !!!! up on their part ..still not managed tget in touch....looks like they took the money and ran!!!!!!
the quota about sa800 not needing tax paying on it was because the tax is paid when figures transferred onto sa100 which i have already paid.
sorry for any confusion........think im sorted now ..:D
